Ten (10) monthly meetings on the following Tuesdays: February 9, 2021; March 9, 2021; April 13, 2021; May 11, 2021; June 8, 2021; July 13, 2021; August 10, 2021; September 14, 2021; October 12, 2021; and November 9, 2021.
1.) Identify aspects of challenging practitioner/client
relationships which impact their practices;
2.) Define what experiences for the practitioner can be
improved through the use of a Balint group;
3.) Differentiate between reactivity and authentic
responsiveness in the practitioner/patient relationship;
4.) Formulate different options for handling challenging
patient encounters.
5.) Describe the usefulness of the group process for
members as well as case presenters.
6.) Identify language that minimizes or detracts from the
individuality of the “other”.
7.) Define the relational impact of the work of identifying
with a patient.
8.) Compare Balint group work with conventional case
consultation.
