Eran Metzger, MD

Coordinator of Intensives

I had been leading a Balint group for a couple of years without any training in the process, so it was a nagging sense after each session that something was missing that led me to my first ABS Intensive on Long Beach Island in 2010. There, I learned two important things: 1) there is definitely a Balint method and learning it would make me a much more effective Balint group leader; 2) ABS was a wonderful community that I wanted to be part of. As the current Coordinator of Intensives, I not only get to hang out with ABS members on a regular basis, but I also get to be part of introducing new people to their first Intensive, which is a delight.

My day job is Director of Psychiatry for Hebrew SeniorLife, a nonprofit senior healthcare organization in Boston.  And when I’m not at work, you may find me up north, paddling in the Lakes Region or hiking in the White Mountains.
