The Colorado Chautauqua

There is no room block associated with the conference. The property is a popular destination and is expected to fill quickly. If you plan to stay onsite, you are encouraged to make your reservation early. You may find better rates on Booking.com or Expedia than the property website. The Colorado Chautauqua has a strict no-cancellation policy on reservations; travel insurance is strongly advised. Rooms can be booked either via the link below or by calling 303.952.1611.

Homewood Suites by Hilton

We have a room block reserved at the Homewood Suites by Hilton for $239 per night plus tax. If you book here, you will be offered a King Suite, which includes a private bedroom, living room with pullout sofa, and kitchenette. The kitchenette features a microwave, full fridge, 2 burner stove, dishwasher, basic cookware, and dishware for 4 people.

This rate also includes:

  • Complimentary shuttle to Chautauqua (the Congress site), Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 4:00pm
  • Hot breakfast buffet, served daily
  • Seasonal Outdoor Pool
  • Onsite fitness facility
  • Rental bikes are available on-site for exploring the surrounding area.
  • Wednesday Evening Social from 5:00pm to 7:00pm where we serve a complimentary light selection of food and drinks.
  • The Homewood Suites also has a large outdoor courtyard with additional patio seating, 2 large propane grills, and a propane fire pit available for you to gather and relax.

Prices range from $55/night for a bunk bed in a dormitory-style lodge, to $145-170 for one person at locations 5-9 miles from Chautauqua, to >$200/night for locations less than 5 miles away.

Transportation

As you consider your lodging, note that Boulder has two public transportation options. There is a free Boulder HOP bus that has a stop within 4 blocks/0.7 miles from the conference site.

Activities at Chautauqua

Whether you're coming to Colorado to experience the Congress or accompanying as a guest, there are several activities* provided through the Colorado Chautauqua. Note: items with an asterisk occur during free time and do not conflict with the Congress schedule.

*Monday, September 9th: 7:45am Gentle Flow Yoga - $15/person register at check-in as space is limited. Start your day off right with a gentle flow yoga class. All experience levels welcome. The class will be offered in a nurturing, supportive, fun-loving way. Reconnect with nature, as well as your own body and mind.  Please bring a yoga mat or check one out at the front desk.

*Monday, September 9th: 10-11am - Historic Walking Tour - free, register through Chautauqua. 

Join our staff for a historic walking tour of the Colorado Chautauqua National Historic Landmark. Knowledgeable guides provide an overview of the nationwide Chautauqua Movement and detailed information on the Colorado Chautauqua.

The tour consists of a quarter-mile stroll that covers the central public buildings and cottages, including the acoustically-renowned Chautauqua Auditorium, Missions House Lodge, Rest Cottage, Community House, and Galey Cottage.

Wednesday, September 11th - Mindfulness Meditation - free, register at check-in as space is limited.

This 30-minute session includes simple movement, breath work, music, and relaxation. Please bring a yoga mat or check one out at the front desk.

Friday, September 13th - 7:30am - Hike - free, register through Chautauqua 

Chautauqua is a hiker’s paradise with 40 miles of trails in every direction at all levels of difficulty. Dogs love our hikes and are allowed on most trails (and in many of our cottages). You can also explore on your own via the link below:

September in Boulder, CO is characterized by comfortable temperatures and moderate rainfall typically 8 days in the month). Throughout the daytime, temperatures often hover around 26C. However, as the sun sets and evening approaches, there's a noticeable cool-down, with temperatures gently dropping to a more temperate 10C.
